چکیده

Abstract Coating design is an efficient strategy to engineer wettability of surfaces and adjustment the functionality necessities in industrial sectors. The current study reveals feasibility functional aluminum/quasicrystalline (Al-QC) composite coatings fabrication by cold spray technology. A commercially available Al-based quasicrystalline powder (Al-Cr-Fe-Cu) was combined with aluminum alloy (Al6061) feedstock materials make various compositions. set process parameters employed deposit different QC-Al ratios Al6061 as counterparts. coating measured static water droplet contact angles using a shape analyzer investigation dynamic impact high-speed imaging. Through microstructural studies, Al-QC composites revealed dense structure, well-integrated adherent deposits, providing structural reliability enhanced hydrophobic behavior. In last step this work, were deposited over eroded cold-sprayed selected demonstrate repairing damaged part function restoring. results approach used work provide understanding manufacturing their wetting behavior state for cross-field applications.

In Vitro Immersion Behavior of Cold Sprayed Hydroxyapatite/Titanium Composite Coatings

In previous study, dense and homogenous 20wt% HAP/Ti composite coatings were successfully deposited on Ti substrates by cold gas dynamic spray technique. The results revealed that the phase composition of the HAP in the deposit is identical to that of the precursor powder and the bonding strength of the deposit is comparable/better to that of the plasma sprayed HAP. A relatively higher corrosio...

Effect of carrier gases on microstructural and electrochemical behavior of cold-sprayed 1100 aluminum coating

1100 Aluminum has been cold sprayed onto similar substrate using 100 vol.% He and mixture of He–20 vol.% N2 as carrier gases. Analysis and characterization of sprayed depositions under different processing conditions was performed through optical micrography, stereological analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and microhardness depth profiles. Potentiodynamic polarization curves and Tafel ext...

Transmission electron microscopy of cold sprayed 1100 aluminum coating

Cold-spraying of 1100 Al powder particles onto 1100 Al substrate was accomplished using carrier gases 100 vol.% He and a mixture of He–20 vol.% N2. TEM characterization correlates very well the occurrence of dislocations, presence of oxide, and surface instability phenomenon with observed mechanical and corrosion properties of the cold-sprayed coating. 2005 Acta Materialia Inc.
